iPhone 12 and 13 users on iOS fifteen having Bluetooth problems in some cars
Some iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 commuters are running into bug when using hands-free Bluetooth in their cars. The effect seems limited to those that have updated to iOS xv.1.
Per a written report past 9to5Mac pointing to an Apple support thread, newer iPhone users on the latest version of Apple'south iOS operating system, including 15.1.i, are running into dropped calls. Telephone calls tend to drop out between 2 to viii minutes later on they start.
"I accept the aforementioned problem with dropping calls. I take a 2017 Tundra and an iPhone 12 with fifteen.1.1," user Tundra_2017 posted in Apple'due south forum. "The but workaround that I've establish is to connect the USB cable from my truck to the phone."
The problem seems to be limited to cars not running Apple Automobile Play, instead using the car's on-lath infotainment systems. For some users, this problem was non occurring on iPhone Ten units.
"Spent an hour on the telephone with Apple today. Uploaded diagnostics from my phone. They told me to call Verizon, it was a network upshot. Huh?" user Jon55nj posted. "Bluetooth has nothing to do with Verizon. Should accept returned this immediately when the problem started just I idea there is no way this wouldn't exist sorted out soon. Wish I had my X back."
At the moment, the simplest solution seems to be to use a USB cable and forego Bluetooth altogether.
As of this writing, an Apple representative has not replied to the thread. Users have not been able to figure out a solution either, other than to use a USB cable for the time being.
An issue similar to this did non pop upwardly in our iOS 15 review. Only as with any new operating system update, there are just and so many permutations testers at Apple can become through. Actually, information technology's when the operating system is out in the real earth practise many of these more modest bugs become squashed. Until and so, users might accept to wait for the side by side incremental iOS update for a permanent set.
